My Father's Company
National Library of Poetry- Boundless Journey
Each day as I hold her,
His knowledge I find.
One is on my shoulder,
The other on my mind.
Remembering how he made me feel,
His knowledge seemed unknown.
The love he shared felt unreal,
'Til the company was my own.
The wisdom was his power,
And education is his care.
As she bloomed into a flower,
The fears of wealth I began to wear.
As my education is unlearned,
I see his wisdom has remained.
The knowledge of his wealth was earned,
And my father's company is regained.
